MADD RECOGNIZES LAW ENFORCEMENT
The 2013 Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Regional Law Enforcement Awards Luncheon was held on Friday, September 20 at the Vinton War Memorial to recognize over 40 law enforcement personnel from more than 30 departments across western Virginia for outstanding service in working to keep drunk drivers off the road.
“Your job that you perform is truly outstanding,” said the Honorable Judge Philip Trompeter, a presiding judge in the Roanoke County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court and the event’s keynote speaker. “That’s the reason why I’m so pleased to have the honor to express my feelings toward you and to say thank you and to congratulate those who are receiving these acknowledgements.”
The luncheon featured law enforcement departments from Allegheny, Amherst, Bath, Bedford, Botetourt, Campbell, Carroll, Craig, Danville, Floyd, Franklin, Giles, Grayson, Henry, Martinsville, Montgomery, Pittsylvania, Pulaski, Roanoke, Roanoke City, Rockbridge, Rocky Mount, Salem and Vinton.
The awards were hosted with the support of the Central Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Programs (ASAP), Court-Community Corrections, Dan River ASAP, and New River ASAP. Several individuals and businesses, along with Bronze Level Sponsors to include Brown & Jennings, PLC, The Law Offices of Daniel L. Crandall & Associates, and LichtensteinFishwick PLC, also made monetary donations to help fund the luncheon.
