ROANOKE WING FEST SETS ATTENDANCE RECORD
The fourth annual Roanoke Wing Fest, a fundraiser for Brain Injury Services of Southwest Virginia (BISSWVA), reached record-breaking attendance on Saturday, August 24, 2013.
According to BISSWVA, the event drew approximately 5,100 attendees into downtown Roanoke, a showing of roughly 1,000 more attendees than in 2012. There were also a total of 29 participating sponsors and vendors to support the cause. The day featured a judging contest to determine Roanoke’s best wings, live music, as well as local arts and craft vendors.
“We were blessed with beautiful weather throughout the day this year,” said Krystal Thompson, Executive Director of BISSWVA. “The record-breaking turnout will result in BISSWVA being able to continue to help more survivors of brain injury.”
Approximately $35,000 was raised to support services for those living with a brain injury in our community. For more information about BISSWVA, visit their website at: www.bisswva.orgThis entry was posted in News & Events by admin. Bookmark the permalink.
